GK Maternity Nannies was founded by Gorreth Katayira, a professional Maternity Nurse, and qualified Nurse, with over 20 years of Childcare as well as a committed mother of Six.
Gorreth is a thoroughly knowledgeable Maternity Nurse with all the right qualities to nurture babies in the early days with a profoundly sincere approach to her work.
Her vast experience with different babies allows her to have a plethora of ideas to make each baby happy according to individualised specific profiles, thus making her truly stand and understand the importance of baby care dynamics without being rigid and many parents testify to having learned so much from her.

Goreth joined our family in the
beginning of June which is when our Triplets arrived. She quickly became a real part of our babies lives as well as
our own.
With her lovely and gentle manner which is very baby led she
helped our babies make a transition from day to night and also enter into a happy feeding schedule which suited all of their requirements.
As a first time mum and that of triplets her gentle approach
and wonderful sense of humour saw me through some challenging times as I was getting to grips of being a mum
of three.
We would have absolutely no hesitation in highly recommending Goreth as we think she's exceptional.

I could not recommend Gorreth more highly, she is the most incredible person and by the end of our four weeks with her she felt like part of the family. She’s warm, calm, friendly, incredibly professional, amazing with babies and full of advice. She has transformed our new-born experience and has helped get our baby into a great sleeping routine. She’s amazing.
Gorreth was the night nurse of our son William for 3 months from the time he was born. Gorreth’s presence helped us in three important ways. It allowed us to:
1. Sleep with peace of mind: because Gorreth masters the skills of caring for a newborn, we were able to sleep without worry. Gorreth could anticipate the needs of William, so he was always content.
2. Put baby on a routine: Gorreth gave us a schedule to follow which allowed the baby to sleep most during the night. William was also happy throughout the day as he was used to his routine and was well rested.
3. Learn to care for a newborn: watching Gorreth care for William allowed us to learn from her, especially for more technical activities (giving bath, breastfeeding, etc.)
Beyond being perfectly professional, Gorreth is caring, calm and patient. She is also very pleasant to have around. I highly recommend Gorreth for anyone who needs a nanny.
Gorreth helped my husband Aymeric and I almost every night for more than 2 months after the birth of our baby girl Léonore. Gorreth has been of tremendous help during that period, and we must say it has been a relief having her at home by our side.
Always absolutely punctual, smiling, gentle and discrete, Gorreth not only helps babies fall asleep and feed during the night, but also gives a lot of herself to teach, listen and even console first time parents like us who have no idea what they are doing!
Her strong experience with so many different babies allows her to have a plethora of ideas to make each baby happy according to his very specific profile. She was the one noticing Léonore had reflux and needed to see a specialist. She also taught us how to establish a routine, or what bottles, holding technique, timetable adjustments...would be best for her. Many tips to make our baby happy that we will make sure to keep applying and remembering in the future!

Gorreth is an absolute delight.
Her calm nature and polite demeanour are her fortes.
She’s always so composed, and nothing phases her. Her knowledge and experience are sound, thus she is able to handle babies with great ease.
She’s wonderful to have around; always giving us space and keeping the nursery extremely tidy.
She is utterly nurturing and loving towards babies. She always talks them through what she’s doing asking their permission e.g. during bath time. She also sings to them making them feel secure.
She handles all aspects of baby care and always encourages me to look after myself too. The logbook is always up to date. Gorreth also records tummy time and other activities as requested. Laundry, sterilisation etc is done consistently and daily.
As requested, Gorreth is now using a gentle strategy to help implement a routine with our 9-week-old baby. We are really pleased that Gorreth not only pays attention to the night time routine but also the daytime activities e.g. enough nap and playtime to ensure a good night’s rest.
Gorreth gels well with all our family members and lets them enjoy time with our little one.

There has never been a moment in the last 9 months that Gorreth has panicked or been unsure. She always maintains a calm, composed and professional demeanour.

Gorreth has been looking after our little baby for about a month now. From the moment she walked in the door she made us feel at ease. She has such a pleasing and calm disposition - something that is much needed for both babies and parents.
She has been doing nights with us and seems to have gotten to know our little one so well. She’s helped us get into a nice little routine which works well during both the day and the night. What strikes me the most is how much she seems to enjoy what she does. She’s always engaging with the baby and treats him like a real person - responding to him, talking to him, and is genuinely amused by what he does.
Her advice is never overbearing, instead it comes from lots of experience and always has the baby’s best interest at heart. She clearly follows what the parents are looking to achieve during her time with them but is also very good at reminding us to make sure we’re listening to our baby and getting to know and understand him/her well.
She’s incredibly organised - always on time and when she leaves everything is left tidy and organised for us to carry on during the day.

Gorreth worked with us for two weeks when our son Max was 10 weeks old. She instantly put us at ease and after just one day her expertise and experience shone through. Gorreth has a reassuring presence, and I was always confident Max was in very safe and caring hands with her. I appreciated that Gorreth took the time to understand how we were currently caring for Max and made gentle suggestions about how we could adapt within this - she taught us a lot while fitting in with our approach. For example, I was combination feeding and she helped us find the right balance for Max and for me. I would not hesitate to recommend Gorreth to anyone and we will miss working with her!
Gorreth is currently working with our family since our twins came home from hospital (at 37w). She has been an invaluable, calm presence during what has otherwise been an intense and demanding time. Gorreth handles the babies gently, respectfully, and expertly. Gorreth also relates wonderfully with our elder toddler. She fits into our household very easily and is excellent company, whilst also giving us space too. She is incredibly organised, which makes the demands of baby care run smoothly. She is focused on ensuring that mum recovers and is rested so that she can enjoy being a new mum. She will advise on what course of action might be best to help a new-born, e.g., with wind or reflux, but is respectful of the parents’ decision making.
Prior to hiring Gorreth, one of her references told me to "hire her immediately" and "trust her blindly". In the weeks that Gorreth has spent with us, I see very clearly why her reference was so effusive! Gorreth started with our son when he was 7.5 weeks old, taking care of him on a 24/6 basis. Prior to Gorreth, we had a maternity nurse who was recommended by our good friends and so have basis for comparison. Gorreth is truly stand out and I couldn't recommend her more highly. Under Gorreth's care, Hercules is sleeping so much better through the night, he's gradually losing the 3/4am feed and he wakes up so happy and content in the morning. Gorreth takes the time to understand Hercules and listen to his needs, which means encouraging him onto a routine is easy to do. Being a mother herself, Gorreth understands the importance of schedule without being rigid. We've learned so much from her in terms of Hercules' development. She sings to him, encourages tummy time and sensory learning. Gorreth has recommended classes and is fabulous with him in them!
Gorreth is a wonderful presence in our household. I am working full time and I feel completely at ease knowing that Hercules is getting the best care in my absence. I do not have to worry about anything. My husband and I are also very comfortable leaving Hercules with Gorreth in the evening if we have to be out sometimes. Gorreth is very good in her communication. We know when Hercules has eaten, state of nappy etc. She tells us what we need to buy and when.
Gorreth goes above and beyond in making sure all Hercules' clothes and toys are kept tidy. At the beginning of every day, she prepares the bottles, cleaning & sterilising and getting the feeds ready. Gorreth knows when to give me and my husband our own time but also to be present when we need. I feel welcomed when I come home and I always smile when I see Hercules' teddies lined up at the end of each day, ready for play the next day!

Gorreth has helped us with our premature twin girls since we came home from intensive care and has been absolutely wonderful! She is incredibly knowledgeable- far more than any nurse or GP I've come across and has been invaluable in her advice for any issues the girls have faced.
Gorreth has a magical way about her with the girls - they adore her calm and gentle manner. She really cares for them often texting to check how they are getting on. She has also been a huge support to me as a new mum when there have been some exhausted tears - giving me a boost and guidance I needed, and we have shared laughs at night when the days have been tough. She always does extra hours or days needed including pushing my husband and I out the door for a much-needed night out and is always there in a crisis.
I have to wean myself off Gorreth this week and I'm dreading it! I'll always be grateful to her for all that she has done for our new family. There really isn't a safer person to leave your babies with. Gorreth is someone special- every new mum needs a Gorreth in their lives.
After having several night nurses Gorreth changed our lives and has certainly been the most helpful organised and effective.
